NEW - FAMILY TEES
The Savannahs Merritt Island is all about growing the game of golf and adding a fun factor here on the Spacecoast. That is why the Club has recently added a Family Tees/Executive Course. At 3,581 yards and Par 67, it’s a “course within a course,” with young players and adult beginners in mind. But that’s not all, we’ve kept plenty of Par 4’s to challenge our regular golfers when they are looking for a faster game out on the course.

Designed by award winning architect Gordon Lewis in 1989, The Savannahs Golf Course presents exciting challenges and opportunities for golfers at all levels. Lewis’s course designs are known for challenging shot-making opportunities, while being fun to play, with chances to recover from a poor shot. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while the forward tees provide a memorable golfing experience for all skill levels. Our staff can help you decide which of our 6 tee boxes best suits your game.
At first glance of the scorecard, the 6,450 yard, par 72 championship course might not look intimidating. By the first tee, you realize this course has challenges that will require your best game. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. Every club in your bag will be needed for your round with forced carries, required accurate fairway shots, and pinpoint shots to small tiered and contoured greens.
Also - make sure to check out our new Orange tees. We are calling them our Family / Executive Tees, measuring at 3,581 yards, par 67. The layout of 13 par 4's and 5 par 3's is ideal for anyone who feels intimidated from playing from the longer tees, or just wants to get in a quick 9 or 18.
Long ball hitters may lose advantage on this course to those with accurate second shots or a strong short iron game. The playing characteristics of the course incorporate strategy and finesse that golfers can appreciate.
The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the toughest holes in Central Florida. From the back tees, a minimum 200-yard drive is required to reach a 23-yard wide fairway surrounded by water. Long hitters may consider going for the green in 2, which requires a long, accurate shot over a lake to a protected green with water on 3 sides. The safer play is to hit a second shot down the fairway - but an errant shot will find bunkers or water. Finding the small protected green on the 3rd shot is still a challenge. Par is a job well done.
Our players also rave about Hole 4 (390-yard par 4), Hole 11 (407-yard par 4), and Hole 18 (402-yard par 4).
Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches.
Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that inlcude: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green.
Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great views and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the practice range and golf course to catch the sunset.
